Description
(An almost required complement to my photo-story illustration called "The Gathering". . . a kind of Yin/Yang thing.)
I meld photos into stories. Here's MY story for this image:
"At first, I thought it was just a dream, composed of symbolism arising from the depths of my subconscious mind. But I know differently now.
Late yesterday afternoon, I hiked into the nearby woods to find some solitude from a hectic and confusing week of drama. The quiet, forgivingly neutral atmosphere of that ancient forest always energized my soul in times of retrospect. For some strange reason, I wandered much further into the wooded womb than ever before and there I witnessed an event that was far beyond explanation. Peering through the trees, I saw shadowy figures quietly gathering, with an air of reverence that stilled the day. I approached as silently as possible and crouched down behind gnarled tree trunks, under the cloak of evening fog. But a beautiful, young woman still saw me. Our eyes met, and I was immediately mesmerized. Then, she slowly began to rise while still staring into my transfixed eyes. Was I meant to be here? Like the others, was I purposely drawn into this dreamy gray reality?
I awoke this morning, alone, cradled in tree roots and nestled into pillows of soft moss and ferns. Like I said, I thought it was all a dream — until I found the silver key in my shirt pocket."
Take a close look. What story do you see?
